In visual exercise 2, we were tasked with finding a location and then documenting it in only five shots. I enjoyed this exercise visually, but I found it difficult to decide on a camera shot when I didn’t have a narrative.
There is some grain on my image, which is because I was shooting in low light. If I was to take more time in future, I would repeat this with additional lights. I think that some colour grading could also improve the look of my images.
When I visited the location, which was the fire escape in Fountain Park carpark, it was a very wet day. There was a really beautiful drip splashing on the metal steps. I clearly didn’t think this through, because when I went back the next day, the drip had stopped. So while the drip in the video is set up, I took care to make sure it looked like it did in real life. It is set up, but I am still documenting what it looked like on that day.
