On the video conference with Andrew and the class, I was impressed with a lot of my classmates photography. There were some genuinely nice shots, some from people I would never even have expected. The editors' work was very good as well. They recut film trailers into new trailers and they were very funny.
Aaron, Harris, Taylor and Megan had all said they would write a script for the exercise, but in the end, I was actually the only person who did!
It was a small sample from a sci-fi/horror/adventure feature I'm working on called 'Other People'. Andrew seemed to think it was ok, but I don't think he was particularly fussed about it. Understandably though; the scene I sent him was a basic setup scene and really wasn't the most interesting. He wasn't sure about the power dynamic between Victoria and Richard and he didn't like my ending to the scene. I knew the final line was corny, but I quite liked it and Harris seemed to find it fun.
I really want to write my first feature this summer. I'm not actually going to show it to anyone, because I don't expect it to be very good. But I want to get past the milestone of having written my first feature. That way, next time there isn't so much pressure.
Here is a link to the script I sent:
