The script has always mentioned 'ghostly voices' at the beginning. But what would these voices actually say? Aaron and I each wrote a stream of consciousness passage. We didn't think about what we wrote. We just immersed ourselves in poetry and wrote.
Then, disturbed by the madness we had come up with, we took this writing and put something together. Juliet actually thought it was a pre-existing poem that we were using instead of something we came up with ourselves, which is a huge compliment.
Anyway, this is what we came up with:
Never an escape for persistent thoughts. The moments I have lived… Reliving them now
without purpose. One after the other. Not a soul to remember. Hoping to cause more pain.
Something to focus on. Dizzy at the thought of continuing.
I hold that power. I hold those memories. There are no mistakes, only choices. There is no
sky, only dirt turned to dust. Dry skin stretched like a drum. Tap, tap, tap.
Nothing left to worry about. Nothing left.
