The Trial

Updated: May 17, 2021

Franz Kafka's The Trial.

A man is arrested out of the blue one day. Follows the court proceedings as he is sentenced for committing a crime. But neither the reader or the accused ever find out what the crime is. In fact, the man barely makes an attempt to find out what the crime was, because he is so overwhelmed with the feeling of guilt. Eventually, he is so ground down that he just blindly accepts his guilt.

Characters who feel powerless. Destinies outside of our control. Ashamed of themselves. They feel like the best things for them is to be killed; squashed.

Sounds a lot like Sonny,
