I have always been very conflicted about onscreen violence. I actually think it's quite a complicated issue. In real life, I’m a pacifist. I am passionately against violence. I hate it. I firmly believe there is always a peaceful solution.
However, I have a history showing onscreen violence and The Hollow Men is no different. But the thing is, I think the way the violence is presented is key. I don’t want to glamourise violence. I don't want to make the violence justifiable or 'cool'. I want it to be pathetic; almost disappointing.
Anyway, I've been thinking about that a lot recently and thought I'd share it.
